My passion for baking goes back to childhood. I have cherished memories of baking with my mother and grandmother, (I LIVED to help with Christmas baking sessions!) but I have to admit that the true origin probably came from watching the baking round in every episode of Just Like Mom. Like any child, who grew up in Canada in the '80s, I longed to be on that show, with all of those ingredients at the ready to create the world's greatest dessert! Alas, the show was cancelled before I could get my chance at stardom, but my desire to leave others awestruck with my baked goods never went away.

As I got older, baking became my self-taught, sideline hobby, and I loved offering up my confections as presents for friends and family. Each occasion inspired me to get more creative, tailoring the look and themes of my cakes to people's personalities, and lifestyles. It is always my mission to create, not just a cake, but an inspired, edible work of art. A cake that tells a story as unique as its recipient.

Now, armed with my formal Baking & Pastry Arts qualification, I am excited to see where my passion for baking takes me next. At my core, I remain a humble, plaid-loving, treat-making Canuck.
